Background
The workshops would focus on the following three specific sub-areas directly linked to the two overarching themes of the project:
- Strategies, priorities and monitoring issues in relation to local development and gender equality
- Patterns of involvement and consultation issues in relation to gender equality
- Methodologies for assessing women's needs and relationship to service provision issues
Each workshop would bring together a delegation of 3 to 4 participants from each partner locations plus expert input and good practice case studies from outside the project partnership. The aim will be share experience and also result in the production of good practise case studies. The workshops would also support in the development of local action plans for gender equality in local development.
First Peer Review Workshop
The first Peer Review Workshop took place in Poznan (PL) on 17-18 of May 2007.
The theme of the Workshop was "Policies and practice". The PREW was focused on new ways of boosting participation of women in all sectors of local development. Therefore the Peer Review has examined actions taken at local level for engaging women in the social economic development indicating the mechanisms used and the results obtained.

Second Peer Review Workshop
The second Peer Review Workshop will take place in Rome on the 18-19 of October 2007.
The focus theme is " Services: assessing women's need and evaluating impact on women".
The theme of the workshop will be mechanisms/methodologies used by service providers to assess women's need and to evaluate the impact of such services on women. By which means and through which indicators service-delivery organisations can measure the situation and provide a check as to whether a programme is likely to make the situation of women better or worse.

Third Peer Review Workshop
The project will organise the last Peer Review Workshop as a final event with title: "Promotion of gender equality in local development: issues and actions".
This is a one day event including dissemination, exchange of experience and capacity building programme.
The aim is to reflect on the implementation of policies and services encouraging gender equality at local level.
The conference is addressing key issues raised during the project life and in so doing it will be organised around three sub themes:
-Participation of women in the local development
-Services addressed to women: gender impact assessment
-Local partnership: women consultation and involvement
The conference seeks to highlight the reason why these issues are crucial to address, and will present trends and strategies identified around these three themes.
