Project manager La City 2008; in 2008 Rotterdam will have a theme month, which I co-ordinate. Women are the middlepoint. We have to try to get as much as possible visitors into the city and be sure they aware the emancipation problems.

Current Work
Legal Advisor for the Dutch Equal Treatment Commission (Commissie Gelijke Behandeling, CGB). The Commission is an independent, professional organisation. People can ask the CGB questions about Dutch equal treatment law or ask the CGB to give an opinion in a specific case. When the CGB receives a petition for an opinion, it investigates whether equal treatment law has been violated. In some respects, the CGB is similar to a court. The legal advisor advises citizens and companies about the equal treatment law, handles the complaints and co-writes the opinions.

Past Work
Legal advisor asylum-cases for the Dutch Immigration and Naturalization Service (Immigratie en Naturalisatiedienst, IND).
The IND is responsible for the implementation of the immigration policy in the Netherlands and is a department of the Ministry of Justice.
Laywer for the IND Process Representation. The lawyers of IND's Process Representation department represent the Minister for Immigration and Integration. It is IND's in-house law firm, as it were.

Current Work
(from 1987 - present) Consultant for "Stichting CMO Stimulans" (Centre for Social Development - Stimulans) in the province of Zuid-Holland and the urban conglomerate of Rotterdam (i.e. Rijnmond). Main responsibilities are consulting of social organizations, (local) authorities and politics regarding diversity and gender issues with a focus on domestic violence and honour related violence, homosexuality, poverty, social participation etc.

• Co-ordinating different departments and advising so called self organizations' and women's work
• Advising local Rotterdam and Rijnmond authorities on personnel, social, diversity, migrant and youth management and policies
• Initiating research (among other things "Colour in women's assistance", "Social position of female home-workers in Rotterdam", "Colour in community centres in Rotterdam").
